If a required PCS travel receipt is missing while you are arranging housing near Tinker, first request a duplicate from the merchant. If that fails, ask the responsible finance office what truthful substitute documentation it accepts for that expense and travel status. A missing-receipt statement can be part of a review process, but it does not establish reimbursement entitlement or guarantee payment before closing.
Keep the receipt problem visible in your Tinker-area military housing plan. The most useful goal is a complete, traceable repair packet and a cash plan that does not depend on an unapproved claim.
Identify the exact expense and missing evidence
Make a list showing the travel date, merchant, expense type, amount you can document and the record that is missing. Separate an invoice, a booking confirmation, a card statement and proof of payment. They may answer different questions. A reservation email can show what was booked without showing the final itemized charge or that it was paid.
If finance returned a claim, keep its exact request for correction. Work from that request rather than guessing which document a reviewer wants. Ask whether an image was unreadable, a date was missing, the receipt lacked itemization or a different issue prevented review.
For a hypothetical family arriving near Tinker, the hotel folio might be the only missing item in an otherwise organized travel file. Label that issue precisely. Avoid delaying the entire household’s housing discussion behind a vague note that “finance is still working on things.”
Try the merchant’s duplicate-receipt route
Contact the hotel, airline or other merchant through a verified channel and request the appropriate duplicate. Supply the information it needs through its approved process. Keep the response with the original record so it is clear why a second version exists.
Check the returned document for the traveler or customer identification, dates, itemized charges and payment information relevant to the request. If it still does not answer the reviewer’s question, explain the remaining gap to the merchant or finance office. Do not change the merchant’s document yourself to make it appear complete.
A short retrieval log can record who you contacted, when, what was requested and the outcome. That log is a practical aid for the next conversation. It is not a substitute for whatever certification or supporting material the reviewing office requires.

Ask about the accepted statement for your status
DFAS’s PCS voucher guidance describes statements in lieu of actual or lodging receipts when receipt or payment evidence is unavailable. The page includes Army-oriented instructions. A Tinker Air Force member should have the responsible office confirm the correct form and submission route rather than copying another service’s workflow.
Explain what happened, what evidence remains and what you did to obtain a replacement. Complete only a certification you can truthfully make. If an amount is uncertain, identify the uncertainty and ask what documentation is needed; do not turn an estimate into a claimed paid amount.
The DFAS receipt FAQ also distinguishes the documentation needed for lodging and other claimed expenses. Ask which rule applies to your specific allowance or reimbursement. An expense incurred during a move is not automatically payable simply because you can document it.
Use Tinker’s current finance channel
Tinker’s Finance page directs newly arriving active-duty members to in-process within five duty days and bring complete orders, amendments and PCS expense receipts. It identifies the CAC-protected Comptroller Services Portal as a service channel. Confirm current instructions for your status with the office.
Our Tinker finance in-processing guide covers that broader arrival task. For the missing receipt, attach the correction to the existing claim through the instructed route and retain confirmation. Ask how to check that the reviewer received it without creating conflicting duplicate submissions.

Keep the housing cash deadline independent
List the dates for lodging, a rental deposit, earnest money or closing beside the funds already available. Keep requested reimbursement in a separate pending column until its status and availability are confirmed. If the timing creates a gap, discuss realistic housing alternatives before the deadline arrives.
