An inspected defect in a condo common element calls for a written association repair commitment and lender review. Do not rely on a verbal promise at closing.
Downsizing
An interstate mover transports the shipment and assumes responsibility for that transportation; a household-goods broker arranges transportation but does not haul the goods. Before an OKC downsizing move, verify the company's stated role, U.S. DOT registration, authority and complaint record, obtain the broker's carrier list, and do not treat the broker's sales estimate as proof of which carrier will arrive.
For an interstate OKC downsizing move, storage-in-transit becomes permanent storage on the date stated in the mover's required notice. The mover normally must send that notice at least 10 days before the storage period expires, or one day before when the storage period is under 10 days. Before conversion, confirm the delivery plan, copy every notice and inventory, and understand that mover liability, warehouse rules, charges and claim handling can change after conversion.
If an interstate mover misses the delivery window for an Oklahoma City downsizing move, preserve the bill of lading, demand the revised delivery period and delay notice in writing, track only added out-of-pocket costs caused by the delay, and stay available for the amended delivery. A federal complaint can document a violation, but FMCSA does not award the household damages.
Before an interstate downsizing move, identify every item worth more than $100 per pound, list it on the mover's shipping documents, photograph its condition, and compare Full Value Protection with Released Value in writing. The list does not create property insurance, but failing to disclose extraordinary-value items can limit a mover's responsibility if they are lost or damaged.
After first documenting the dispute and asking the interstate mover to resolve it, an OKC downsizer may request the mover's neutral arbitration program for covered loss, damage or additional-charge disputes. The mover must participate when the claim is $10,000 or less; above that amount it may decline. Arbitration is optional for the shipper and its legal effect and costs should be reviewed before election.
If an interstate mover presents a higher binding estimate on pickup day, pause before loading and compare the new shipment list with the agreement you signed. Ask which goods or services changed and get the proposed arrangement in writing. A binding estimate covers an identified shipment and services; it is not permission to add unlimited belongings at the original price.
Before signing an interstate mover's pickup inventory, compare it with the belongings actually going onto the truck.
Before an interstate downsizing move to or from Oklahoma City, tell the moving company about household chemicals, fuels, compressed-gas containers and other potentially hazardous products before they enter a box.
Before an interstate downsizing delivery in OKC, distinguish the estimate, permitted delivery charges, payment method and later bill before the truck arrives.
