If USPS Informed Delivery changes or stops after an Oklahoma City move, check the address in your own USPS account, the new delivery point’s eligibility and any identity-verification or security notice. Handle physical mail forwarding separately. Updating an online account does not by itself file a change of address, and an empty email digest does not prove that your forwarding order failed.
Separate the mailbox from the preview account
Informed Delivery shows previews of eligible incoming mail and package information. It is an optional digital service connected to an eligible address. A change-of-address order handles physical forwarding. Treat these as two entries on the move checklist so success with one does not hide an unfinished step in the other.

For a hypothetical move from an out-of-state apartment to Oklahoma City, keep a private note of the forwarding confirmation, the address stored in the USPS profile and the address displayed for Informed Delivery. Compare the full street and unit information. You are checking your own service, not seeking access to a former resident’s mail.
Check the specific new address for eligibility
USPS says the service depends on an eligible address and a uniquely coded mailbox or delivery point. Some apartment or condominium addresses may not qualify. A nearby neighbor receiving previews does not establish that your unit is eligible.

Use the official enrollment process to check the complete address. If the home is newly constructed and the address is not recognized, handle the address-creation problem through the separate postal-address process before assuming the preview feature is broken. Our new-home address guide explains that distinction. Do not enter a neighboring unit, a seller’s account or an address you cannot legitimately use just to pass a form.

Read a security suspension as a separate account issue
USPS’s Change of Address FAQ says a matching change request can trigger temporary Informed Delivery suspension for security purposes. That is a documented reason a moving household may see access change. It is not, by itself, proof that mail has been lost or that someone has accessed the account.

Go directly to USPS through a known official address and follow the instructions available for your account. Use USPS support if the notice or next step is unclear. This guide does not reproduce an unverified restoration code, promise a particular screen or claim that every account follows the same sequence. Keep any verification codes private and do not forward them to a moving vendor or real estate contact.
Complete the verification process appropriate to you
USPS requires identity verification for enrollment. Its consumer page explains that people who cannot verify online may use a postal location offering Identity Verification Services. Confirm the available process and location through USPS before making a special trip; not every postal errand is handled at every counter.

Keep a concise record of the date, the issue and any support reference number. If the first attempt fails, describe the actual error rather than repeatedly changing name or address details to see what passes. A legitimate account should reflect your real information. For a household with several adults, each person should use authorized account access and protect their own credentials.

Check notification settings before assuming delivery stopped
The Informed Delivery consumer FAQ directs customers to check email opt-in, the selected email address and spam filtering when messages are missing. It also explains that previews are not sent on every calendar day. Read the dashboard and the actual service status before treating one missing digest as a physical-delivery problem.

If an important item is expected, contact its sender through an established channel and use the appropriate USPS tracking or assistance process. Do not send closing funds, change wire instructions or disclose account details because a supposed postal message says a letter is delayed. Mail previews are a convenience; they are not confirmation that an unrelated financial instruction is authentic.
Finish the move with two confirmed outcomes
Your checklist should show where physical mail is supposed to arrive and which eligible address your preview account serves. Note unresolved items and the next USPS action. Keep essential sender updates separate as well: a bank, insurer or government agency may need its own address change.

If a temporary rental is followed by a purchase, repeat the address and account check at the second move. A short verification now is easier than relying on an old profile while important notices are arriving somewhere else.
